THIS SUNDAY: The Parable of the Wedding Feast - Part II Matthew 22:10-14
This parable can be broken up into three parts
The king calls the original invitees to the feast, but they reject his calling.
The king ordered his servants to bring in new guests from the streets.
The king examines his guests during the feast.
Last week, we focused on the original invitee's rejection of the king's call to the wedding feast. We compared the similarities to the wicked tenant's rejection of the master's son.
This week, we will focus on the king's decision to invite new guests and what he does during the feast.
Reread the parable and then follow up with these passages:
Galatians 3:7-8
Romans 11:25
Revelation 19:6-8
Isaiah 61:10-11
While you read and pray through the above, consider the following:
How does God's eternal plan of redemption unfold in the parable?
Does the king lower his standards to bring in the new guest?
What is God's standard for attending the marriage feast of the lamb?
Prayer Meeting & Catechism Class:
We will no longer have Sunday School class at 10 am. Instead, we will gather for a short catechism class and prayer meeting. Please join us each Sunday at 10 am so that we can pray together as a church.
Question 90. What doth God require of us that we may escape his wrath and curse, due to us for sin?
A. To escape the wrath and curse of God due to us for sin, God requireth of us faith in Jesus Christ, repentance unto life (Acts 20:21), with the diligent use of all the outward means whereby Christ communicateth to us the benefits of redemption (Pr. 2:1-6, 8:33 to the end; Is. 55:2, 3).
